EVGE has six unique rooms, created with their own identity and history, charged with a distinct sequence of colours and built in such a way that they meet every need of our guests. With absolute respect for what Mother Nature offers us, EVGE’s facilities offer authenticity and affordable luxury to every visitor, while retaining the raw charm of the natural environment. We have ensured that through facilities such as the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, public areas, balcony and courtyards, our guests feel the warmth of home and experience absolute serenity while contemplating the captivating beauty of Chania’s vegetation with its myriad endemic species, the endless skyline and the deep blue of the Cretan Sea.
Maintaining the warm and cosy character of EVGE’s Cretan architecture, combined with the introduction of modern additions and amenities in the hospitality industry, is of great importance to us. When designing the communal areas, special emphasis was placed on transforming the idea of the traditional Cretan courtyard into a modern resort of relaxation and rejuvenation with communal features.
The preservation of the warmth and comfort that Cretan architecture is known for, together with modern additions and amenities, have been greatly important to our hotel. The redesigning of its common spaces notably evolves the concept of a traditional Cretan courtyard, into a modern resort of relaxation and rejuvenation which is largely resemblant of a commune.
– Indoor Dining Room
The comfortable interior dining area was created to give visitors the opportunity to interact, to share moments, experiences and tastes of local products and to see our small library.
– Outdoor Dining Room
Between the common areas and the residences, we created an outdoor lounge ideal for gatherings around a monastic table. Both breakfast and other meals can be served there, upon request, while every visitor can enjoy local delicacies and traditional Cretan raki. The tables in front of each room or on the lawn complement the gathering areas.
– Swimming pool
The EVGE is dominated by a communal wedge-shaped swimming pool, with clear references to the traditional authentic water transport grooves used until a few decades ago in rural Crete.
– Outdoor Spaces – Plantations
The plantings of the EVGE include only endemic species. Not only on the low surfaces, but also on the planted roofs, there are toasty plants such as thyme, thurible, lavender and rosemary, but also flowers such as basil, roses, daisies and bougainvillea. The tall plantations are dominated by fruit trees such as our orange, lemon, mandarin and water chestnut trees.
